Recently a homeowner asked to use our existing e-mail listing to contact the membership. The request prompted a discussion among your officers about how to handle requests such as this in the future. We all agreed that contacting each other periodically with relevant area events, items for sale or houses to rent would probably be of interest to all of us at one time or another, but we also all agreed that we didn’t want to clog up our in-boxes with e-mails. Thus we've decided to set up a blog site for the Mad River Homeowner’s Association.
For those that are not aware a blog is a website that permits posting of information and a way to have open conversations without using email. The officers have all signed up to post items and will be doing so in the coming months. Our intent would be to post meeting minutes, the by-laws, and upcoming meeting notices as well as officer contact information. We’d like to open it to all homeowner’s to list information using the guidelines below. The officers will periodically review the information, delete old or obsolete postings and basically police the site and make sure we are all using it for the intended purposes.
All homeowner's are invited to post relevant information concerning MRG and the MR Valley such as related events (festivals, restaurants, theater, etc) or items (such as homes for sale or rent) A review of businesses offering services to MRG homeowner's would be appreciated. (Construction, plumbers, electricians, trash removal, etc) Items for sale should be removed after 30 days or when sold. Items for sale should have an appropriate association with MRG or the Valley.
All homeowners will receive an invitation from Blogger to become a part of the blog. Simply click on the link within that email and follow the instructions. You will be required to open an account with blogger. This is absolutely free and safe. Once you are signed up, just follow the instructions provided to post to the blog. You may also upload pictures (jpeg format) and even Utube movies!
You do not have to sign up to view the blog or post comments to blog postings. If you would like to make a post to the blog yourself though, you will have to sign up.
Most of all, the blog should be a fun place for us to communicate with each other and share experiences. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you on the blog and on the mountain!
